Responsibilities

The Clinic has medical, nursing and laboratory staff who provide a range of on-site services. It participates in research on sexual and reproductive health, and works with Government ministries and NGOs to coordinate policies and activities. Every year the Clinic provides supervised internships for university students.

Services provided

The Clinic provides clinical examinations, screening tests, advice and counseling, as well as general health check-ups. It dispenses medications and contraceptives (implant contraceptives, the oral pill and condoms). A nominal fee is charged on the first visit. Mobile clinic

The Youth Center has been operating a mobile clinic since 2013. The fully equipped van visits schools and factories in Vientiane Province in conjunction with the Center’s outreach team.

The mobile clinic enables young people who are living away from their home province to access a clinical service close to where they live, work or go to school. It has examination and basic testing facilities for STIs and can dispense medications. It provides counseling services on contraception planning, drugs, unintended pregnancy, as well as prevention of STIs and HIV/AIDS.
